Cremino Fiat 4 Dadi Christmas, Majani 41g
A little 41g pack of four Cremino Fiat dadi (“dice”), Majani’s famous layered chocolates. Each cube is built from four alternating layers of smooth cream made with hazelnuts, almonds and cocoa – there are more than 40% nuts in the recipe – and each is individually wrapped. This is the mixed pack: Majani’s Fiat Mix brings together the Classico with the darker Noir and Extranoir versions, so you can taste the difference the cocoa makes.
Majani was established in Bologna in 1796 and is one of Italy’s oldest chocolate makers. It still makes its chocolate from the bean, and it is credited with Scorza, the first solid chocolate sold in Italy, in 1832. In 1911 Fiat held a competition among Italian chocolatiers to launch its new Tipo 4 car; Aldo Majani won it with a cremino of four layers instead of the usual three, and the Cremino Fiat has been made ever since.
A lovely small stocking filler, or one to put beside an espresso after Christmas dinner.
